Big escapes can come in small packages.

The story

Who says a vacation home has to be big?

For a couple working in busy Manila, the dream was simple: a cozy little farmhouse in Alfonso, Cavite, where weekends could feel a little longer and life could move a little slower.

And with just 78 square meters to work with, we had to make every bit of space count.

Little Alfonso brings together the familiar charm of farmhouse architecture with a clean, contemporary character. But behind its modest size is a surprisingly complete vacation home.

The two-storey layout accommodates two bedrooms, comfortable living and dining spaces, and even a private dip pool for those lazy afternoons when leaving the house isn't part of the plan.

A double-height space adds a sense of openness, proving that a home doesn't necessarily need more floor area to feel spacious.

From the architectural planning to the interiors and visualization, Crisostomo Architects developed the design for this charming countryside retreat, which has since been built.

Because sometimes, the perfect escape isn't about having more space.

It's about making the most of the little space you have.
